Climate Change
Elija on 06 Dec 2009
Recently I posted a blog entry claiming to prove that climate change was a fraud perpetrated by scientists who wanted government funding. It was kind of tongue in cheek but aiming to make the point that the data is being manipulated. The Copenhagen climate conference takes place next week so what do I really think about climate change? There is no doubt that the climate is changing. There should be no surprise in that as the historic record shows that the climate is in a constant state of flux. That's right, the climate would still be changing even if Humans had never evolved. The real question is "how much is Human civilisation affecting the climate?" and the other important question is "What can we do about it?"
I think that we are accelerating climate change. It is inevitable as we are destroying carbon sinks like the Amazon Rain Forest at a truly astounding rate while pumping more and more pollution in to the atmosphere. I am not just talking about carbon dioxide here; think about all the other pollutants we pump out an a daily basis.
I don't think we affecting the climate as much as our Governments and their scientists would have us believe however. From any Governments perspective, exaggerating the effect we are having has many benefits. Firstly, it causes fear. A population in fear is easier to control. Secondly; it allows for so called green taxes to be levied.
So what can we do about it? Well, our Governments are aiming to move to a carbon reduced economy. Which of itself is completely pointless. Consider the futility of reducing the amount of carbon produced per capita when the World's population is rising at the fastest rate ever. People are living longer and having more babies; more of whom are surviving in to adulthood and living longer while having more babies. As medical science progresses that pattern will only continue to accelerate.
Now in that move to the low carbon economy, I confidently predict that our Governments will hit us with many new green taxes, especially those that have borrowed their way in to a financial black hole. I also predict that there will be little overall progress towards reducing carbon emissions as a significant proportion of the "green taxes" will be needed to try and plug said black hole.
If our Governments are genuinely serious about reducing Human Accelerated Climate Change, there is one way and one way only. Reduce the human population worldwide to sustainable levels.
I'll say that again.
If our Governments are genuinely serious about reducing Human Accelerated Climate Change, there is one way and one way only. Reduce the human population worldwide to sustainable levels.
Step 1: Ban Franken Kids. Every government should outlaw IVF treatment. While this does sound harsh, it would reduce the birth rate. It is very sad that you cannot naturally have children. So adopt one of the many who need and would love to be in a loving home.
Step 2: Limit the birth rate. Every government should pass laws such that contraceptives are by default fed to the population through the food and water supply. Counter agents should be given such that the number of births are about one half the number of deaths. Further the counter agents should only be given to those who are stable and can afford a child and who have passed a psychological profile to ensure they would be good parents.
Step 3: Only two children per family. Every government should pass a law such that any family may have only two children. If they want more, they may adopt them.
Step 4: Continue the move to a low pollution economy and lifestyle. On it's own, this step is completely pointless but it is what makes steps 1, 2 and 3 viable.
Until Governments start thinking and working along these lines I will not believe that we are having the huge effect they say we are. And there it is.
The uncomfortable truth.

That's a bleak way of looking at it.
